1991/09/24 City Council Resolution (3)RESOLUTION NO. 91 -202 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROHNERT PARK IN SUPPORT OF UNITED STATES SENATE JOINT RESOLUTION 170 WHEREAS, the City has no present formal policy in recognition of American POW /MIA's; WHEREAS, many members of the Armed Forces of the United States who are officially considered missing in action or have their locations unknown; WHEREAS, the uncertainty surrounding the fate of such members has caused families to suffer acute and continuing sacrifices and hardships: WHEREAS, by reason of such sacrifices and hardships, such members and their families deserve the recognition and support of the people and Government of the City of Rohnert Park. NOV, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Rohnert Park, California does resolve, declare, determine and order as follows: Section 1. Pursuant to Senate Joint Resolution 170, the City of Rohnert Park, California, supports and affirms the following actions and measures. Section 2. The adoption of September 26, 1991 as National POW /MIA Recognition Day. Section 3. The authorization of the display of the National League of Families POW /MIA flag on flagstaffs at certain City facilities. Section 4. That the City of Rohnert Park, California, affirms the dignity of mankind realizing it's debt of obligation to those armed forces who fought in the Country's behalf and who were captured or were officially considered missing in action.
