A RESOLUTION OF RESPECT FOR CLYDE E. CHESNEY
WHEREAS, on the 25th day of January, 1992, death brought to
a close the active and productive life of Clyde E. Chesney; and
WHEREAS, Clyde Chesney, affectionately referred to by many
as "Father Chesney," was held in high regard by those citizens in
Rohnert Park who knew him for his gentle manner; and
WHEREAS, "Father Chesney" was well respected by both private
citizens and many business leaders in our community; and
WHEREAS, "Father Chesney" was always there with a
hardworking and unselfish attitude, often providing a place for
the city's political leaders to meet and conduct city business;
and
WHEREAS, "Father Chesney" will always be fondly remembered,
not only for his cheerful smile and strong determination, but for
the countless number of cheesecakes, pies, and other delectable
goodies that he would bake and deliver to the various city
facilities time and time again for the employees to enjoy; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Rohnert Park is
among many who are greatly saddened at the passing of Clyde B.
Chesney and will sorely miss him.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City
of Rohnert Park that it does hereby express sincere sorrow in the
loss of Clyde B. Chesney and conveys sympathy to his wife,
Bonnie, and the other members of his family.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution be
appropriately prepared and presented to Mrs. Bonnie Chesney as
evidence of the high esteem in which Clyde "Father" Chesney was
held.
DULY AND REGULARLY ADOPTED this 11th day of February, 1992.
