1992/06/23 City Council Resolution (14)RESOLUTION NO. 92 -102 y A RESOLUTION COMMENDING AND CONGRATULATING THE TOWN OF WINDSOR ON BECOMING THE NINTH INCORPORATED CITY IN SONOMA COUNTY AND EXTENDING WELCOME TO THE MAYORS' AND COUNCILMEMBERS' ASSOCIATION OF SONOMA COUNTY WHEREAS, the citizens of Windsor recently voiced their desire to declare Windsor as an incorporated city by an affirmative vote in°th'e November 1991 general election; and WHEREAS, effective July 1, 1992, the Town of Windsor will become the ninth incorporated city of the County of Sonoma; and WHEREAS, this event climaxes fifteen (15) years of groundwork for cityhood; and WHEREAS, the Town of Windsor has become the fourth (4th) largest city in 'Sonoma County, following Santa Rosa, Petaluma, and Rohnert Park ;;,and WHEREAS,° R©hnert Park happily relinquishes the distinction ofbeirig the "newest city" in Sonoma County; and WHEREAS,_` the City of Rohnert Park is looking forward to many years of,great friendship and camaraderie with the Town of Windsor and gffers its utmost cooperation and assistance whenever, possible; and WHEREAS, ;the >City;of Rohnert Park is eager to join with the other c'iti'es of the County of Sonoma in cultivating mutually beneficial ventures with the Town of Windsor. NOW`"THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Rohnert Park that it hereby extends commendations and congratulations to the Town of Windsor on its incorporation.
