1992/08/11 City Council Resolution (4)RESOLUTION NO. 92 -136 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROHNERT PARK RATIFYING THE EXECUTION OF RESOLUTIONS NUMBERED 92 -130 AND 92 -131 WHICH PROVIDE FOR THE PLACEMENT OF CERTAIN ADVISORY MEASURES TO THE ELECTORATE OF THE CITY OF ROHNERT PARK, RESCINDING THE SAME AND WITHDRAWING THE MEASURES FROM A VOTE OF THE PEOPLE AT THE NOVEMBER, 1992 GENERAL ELECTION WHEREAS the City Council of the City of,Rohnert Park did hold a special meeting of the City Council on Tuesday, August 4, 1992, for the purpose of considering whether the City Council should place certain measures before the electorate to determine whether taxes should be imposed upon the electorate for a city wide Landscape and Lighting District and a district for the maintenance of public park, urban open - space, playground and library facilities, and WHEREAS the City Council by a vote of 4 to 0 with one absence, did determine that the City Council should place both measures before the electorate at the November, 1992, general election, and WHEREAS in conformity with the vote of the City Council the Mayor did sign Resolutions 92 -130 and 92 -131 which place the questions to the electorate of whether a Landscape and Lighting District and a District under the Park and Playground Act of 1909 should be formed and assessments levied to support the purposes of the respective districts, and WHEREAS the City Council at its meeting of August 11, 1992 did determine that the measures should not be submitted to the electorate for the reason, among others, that the details have Resc cion No. 92 -136 not been coordinated sufficiently to present a meaningful measure to the electorate. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the actions by the Mayor in executing the aforesaid Resolutions numbered 92 -130 and 92 -131 in accordance with the vote of the City Council authorizing the placement of the matters as advisory votes on the November 1992 general election ballot be and the same is hereby ratified and confirmed, provided, however, that the measures are nevertheless withdrawn from the ballot for the reasons, among others, heretofore set forth in this Resolution. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, for the reasons stated above, among others, that the aforesaid Resolutions numbered 92 -103 and 92 -131 be and the same are hereby rescinded. DULY AND REGULARLY PASSED BY THE ROHNERT PARK CITY COUNCIL THIS 11th DAY OF AUGUST, 1992.
