A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROHNERT PARK
AUTHORIZING THE SUBMITTAL OF A GRANT APPLICATION, THE INCURRING OF AN
OBLIGATION, THE EXECUTION OF A GRANT AGREEMENT AND ANY AMENDMENTS
THERETO, AND ANY OTHER DOCUMENTS NECESSARY TO SECURE A CODE
ENFORCEMENT INCENTIVE PROGRAM GRANT FROM THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA.
WHEREAS, the City of Rohnert Park (hereinafter referred to as "City")
is a public entity established under the laws of California and empowered to enter into an
agreement to receive State funds to promote code enforcement efforts and to commit to
providing annual matching funds or reserves.
WHEREAS, the California Department of Housing and Community Development
(hereinafter referred to as the "State ") is authorized to make grants to assist with code
enforcement efforts.
WHEREAS, the City of Rohnert Park wishes to obtain from the State a grant for
assisting with code enforcement activities and intends to offer matching funds and resources as
identified in its application.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City of Rohnert Park may submit to
the State an application for a Code Enforcement Pilot Program grant for use in the City,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that if the application is approved, the City is hereby
authorized to incur an obligation to provide matching funds which shall be based on a request of
$225,000, or resources in any amount not less than this amount, should the grant be approved by
the State, and to enter into a grant agreement with the State for the purposes set forth in the
application and approved by the State, with the City obligated to fund 25 %, or provide
equivalent resources, in the first year of the grant period's apportioned cost, 50 %, or equivalent
resources, in the second year of the grand period's apportioned cost and 75 %, or equivalent
resources, in the third year of the grant period's apportioned cost.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that that the City may also execute a contract and other
instruments necessary or required by the State to govern and secure the match obligation, the
performance obligation and the state funding commitment.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City is further authorized to request
amendments, including, but not limited to funding increases in amounts up to amounts approved
