2001/02/13 City Council Resolution (6)Resolution No. 2001 -30 A Resolution of the City Council Of the- City of Rohnert Park Stating the Intent of the City Council To Amend Its Housing Element WHEREAS, on July 27, 2000, the City Council adopted Resolution 2000 -152 approving General Plan 2000; and WHEREAS, a housing element was included as part of General Plan 2000; and WHEREAS, the City Council was required to adopt the housing element without benefit of either the regional housing needs determination established by the Association of Bay Area Governments, or the comments of the State Department of Housing and Community Development; and WHEREAS, on December 29, 2000, the City of Rohnert Park received a letter from the State Department of Housing and Community Development providing its comments on the housing element pursuant to Government Code § 65585; and WHEREAS, City staff will be meeting with staff from the State Department of Housing and Community Development on February 28, 2001 to discuss the comments provided in the letter of December 29, 2000; WHEREAS, the City of Rohnert Park has appealed its Regional Housing Needs Determination established by the Association of Bay Area Governments; and WHEREAS, the appeals process to the Association of Bay Area Governments will not be concluded until March 15, 2001. NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Rohnert Park does hereby resolve as follows: SECTION ONE. The City Manager, Planning Director, and City Attorney are directed to report back to the City Council no later than the City Council meeting of April 10, X001, the results of the meeting with the State Department of Housing and Community Development on February 28, 2001, and the results of the ABAG appeal on March 15, 2001. SECTION TWO. Included within the report required by Section One of this Resolution, shall be recommendations for changes to the housing element and a timeline for implementation. On April 10, 20001, the City Council intends to initiate amendments to the housing element to conform to changes required in response to the report received pursuant to Section One.
