2001/02/27 City Council Resolution (3)RESOLUTION NO. 2001 -36 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROHNERT PARK Proclaiming MARCH 11th — MARCH 17th, 2001 GIRL SCOUT WEEK WHEREAS, nationwide recognition will be given to "Girl Scout Week" throughout the week of March 11th — March 17th, 2001; and WHEREAS, there are currently 51 Girl Scout Troops /Groups represented in the community of the City of Rohnert Park; and WHEREAS, Girl Scouts exemplify the character and hope for the future by showing commitment, drive and interest in their respective communities; and WHEREAS, the future welfare of local communities, the states, and the nation depend upon efforts like those of the Girl Scout organization to develop proper attitudes among young people and to provide them with right examples, environments, and opportunities; and WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Rohnert Park recognizes and appreciates the importance and exciting fulfillment of helping others, along with the responsibility involved toward the necessity of reinforcing this in the lives of the young people within the community; and the need to create public awareness of the positive contributions that young people, like the Girl Scouts, make in the nation's progress. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Rohnert Park that it does hereby join with others across the country in proclaiming MARCH 11 — MARCH 17, 2001 GIRL SCOUT WEEK DULY AND REGULARLY ADOPTED this February 27, 2001.
