A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROHNERT PARK
In Tribute to and Honor of
DOCTOR EDWARD PEACOCK
On the Occasion of his Retirement from Youth and Family Services
WHEREAS, Dr. Ed Peacock began his career with the City of Rohnert Park as Volunteer
Clinical Supervisor on January 7, 1985; and
WHEREAS, Ed's credentials are most impressive. He is a licensed Marriage, Family and
Child Counselor. He served as a nationally known educator and consultant to government agencies
and corporations; he was Executive Director of the American Institute of Family Relations and taught
psychology in various schools and universities; he is a Fellow of the American Orthopsychiatric
Association and the National Academy of Counselors & Family Therapists as well as clinical
member of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy; and
WHEREAS, Dr. Peacock authored numerous articles for leading magazines such as the
Can this Marriage be Saved column in Ladies Home Journal; as a skilled diagnostician, he led
workshops, hosted a radio -talk show, and appeared on several television programs; and
WHEREAS, Dr. Peacock is also an ordained Presbyterian clergyman. He has affected the
lives of countless individuals by providing hours of support and counseling to both City employees
and members of the community. He has provided clinical supervision to the majority of the
counseling trainees and interns at Youth and Family Services for the past sixteen years, giving them
direction, support, and sharing his knowledge and experiences. His voice will go with them into their
counseling practices. Dr. Peacock has been described by his colleagues, clients, and interns alike as
sensitive, friendly, caring, compassionate, and exceptional both as an individual and as a therapist.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Rohnert
Park that it extends its best wishes to Dr. Ed Peacock for a relaxed, peaceful, and joyful retirement
with his wife Jacque and their children Vicki, Bob, and Bill. We sincerely thank him for sixteen
years of outstanding service to the Rohnert Park community.
