RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF ROHNERT PARK AMENDING RESOLUTION
2001 -153 ESTABLISHING RULES AND REGULATIONS FOR THE
ADMINISTRATION AND OPERATION OF THE CITY WATER SYSTEM
WHEREAS, The City Council of the City of Rohnert Park did, on the 16 "' day of
.January 1967 adopt Ordinance No. 76 of said City; and,
WHEREAS, Section 3 of said ordinance No. 76 does provide that the City Council
shall adopt rules and regulations, rates, penalties and charges, from time to time by resolution,
regulating the sale of water produced by facilities owned and operated by said City; and,
WHEREAS, the City Council has previously adopted Resolution 01 -153 adopting rules
and regulations regulating the sale of water, and
WHEREAS, the City requested a water /sewer rate study to be conducted by Hilton
Farnkopf & Hobson, LLC, and
WHEREAS, the Consultant's study proposed a water service rate increase of 40% this
fiscal year to meet the operating requirements, and
WHEREAS, the proposed 40% increase in rates does not exceed the costs of
maintaining the water system, and
WHEREAS on August 28, 2001, the City Council held a public hearing and adopted
the Consultant's Final Report for the Water and Sewer Rate Study, and
WHEREAS, the City Council held a duly noticed public hearing on November 27,
2001, concerning the proposed increase in water service rates and has taken into consideration
the comments received, and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of
Rohnert Park does hereby amend Resolution 01 -153 adopting the rules and regulations for the
administration and operation of the City water system.
Amend Section 25. RATES FOR WATER SERVICE:
25.1 Meter Rates:

25.3 Single Family Residence Charges:

25.3.1 Mobile Home Park Rates:

25.5 Fire Protection Standby Rates:
Water for fire suppression systems using automatic sprinklers and which
systems have a direct and separate connection to a City water main in any
building or structure shall be furnished at
the following rates:

There shall not be a Fire Protection Standby Rate imposed on a fire suppression
system using automatic sprinklers and which system is operated off the regular
and normal water supply service to the building or structure.
25.6 Special Rates: Monthly Rate

Metered billing from

whichever is higher.
This resolution shall take effect on January 1, 2002 for non - metered residential service and on
December 1, 2001 for all other service.
