A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROHNERT
PARK AUTHORIZING AND APPROVING THE DIRECTOR OF FINANCE TO
INCREASE APPROPRIATIONS WITHIN THE PERFORMING ARTS CENTER
ENDOWMENT DONATIONS PERMANENT FUND FOR THE PURCHASE OF
EQUIPMENT AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO MAKE ANY
ADMINISTRATIVE ADJUSTMENTS NECESSARY TO COMPLETE THE PURCHASE
WHEREAS, in 1989 the Dorothy Rohnert Spreckels Performing Arts Center
Endowment Fund (Endowment Fund) was created; and
WHEREAS, the purpose of the Endowment Fund is to generate enough funds from
earned interest to offset the operation expenses incurred at the Performing Arts Center and to
keep those expenses from being reflected in community rental rates and ticket prices; and
WHEREAS, in 1990, the City committed additional unrestricted funds to the Dorothy
Rohnert Spreckels Performing Arts Center Endowment Fund; and
WHEREAS, the Endowment Fund consist of $500,000 in restricted funds and $693,000
in unrestricted funds; and
WHEREAS, the unrestricted endowment funds are within the Performing Arts Center
Endowment Donations Permanent Fund are and can be spent in a manner that meets the purpose
of the Endowment Fund; and
WHEREAS, the Spreckees Performing Arts Center is in need of a specialized projector,
new stage lighting and camera equipment to enhance performances, and
WHEREAS, the purchase of this equipment is consistent with the purpose of the
Endowment Fund.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Rohnert
Park that it does hereby authorize and approve the Director of Finance to increase appropriations
within the Performing Arts Center Endowment Donations Permanent Fund for the purchase of
equipment and authorize the City Manager to make any administrative adjustments necessary to
complete the purchase.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that appropriations will be increased in Performing
Arts Center Endowment Donations Permanent Fund 430 - 0000 - 400 -9510 in the amount of
$19,000.
