1. Call to Order

2. Approval of Minutes of Meeting of March 23, 2015
Committee Member Gold moved to approve the March 23, 2015 meeting minutes; the motion
was seconded by Committee Member Musick and carried unanimously (5-0-0-0).
Establishment of the Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Committee
Chair Hensel introduced the item. Staff member Tacata briefly described the establishment of
the Rohnert Park Bicycle Advisory Committee by Rohnert Park City Council minute action in 1991 to
review projects put forth for Transportation Development Act Article 3 funding, the Committee's past
work in considering pedestrian facilities, and the specific recommendation in the City's Bicycle and
Pedestrian Master Plan for the expanded role to include pedestrian needs. Staff requested direction
from the Committee on the preparation of a City Council action to formalize the Bicycle and Pedestrian
Advisory Committee. She added that an August 2015 City Council meeting would be the target for an
agenda item. After brief discussion, the Committee concurred that staff should prepare the item for City
Council's consideration.
4. New Matters for Future Consideration
The committee members suggested the following matters to consider for future Committee
agendas:
• Construction signs, impact to bicycle and pedestrian facilities, standards for location,
placement, and removal of construction signs

There was also discussion about the Parks and Recreation Commission "year-long agenda," a
list of various topics anticipated or requested for the Commission's meetings, which is reviewed
regularly by the Commission and staff.
5. Public Comments
Marie Potter, Rohnert Park resident, brought up concerns about the linkages of the local bicycle
network to the SMART Train Stations. She urged the committee members and City staff to be closely
involved in and aware of SMART's implementation of the stations, the multi -use path, and funding.
Committee Member Williams commented about bicycle and pedestrian access to Sonoma State
University (SSU) as affected by both the City's Snyder Lane Widening Project and a construction
project at SSU. There was discussion among those present about the confusing signage and blocked
access to SSU along the Copeland Creek Bike Path, as well as impeded alternate access from the "J"
Section neighborhood. Staff agreed to take the information back to the City's project manager to rectify
the situation, possibly with adjusted signage and better coordination with the SSU contractor or project
manager.
Committee Member Williams commented about paint markings in front of a transit stop in the
construction limits of the Snyder Lane Widening project.
6. Adjournment
Vice -Chair Gault moved to adjourn the meeting; the motion was seconded by Committee
Member Musick and carried unanimously. The meeting was adjourned at approximately 6:25 PM.
