2017/10/10 City Council Resolution 2017-123RESOLUTION NO. 2017-123 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROHNERT PARK RATIFYING CITY MANAGER'S PROCLAMATION OF THE EXISTENCE OF A LOCAL EMERGENCY WHEREAS; Section 2.52.060 of the Rohnert Park Municipal Code empowers the Director of Emergency Services to proclaim the existence or threatened existence of a local emergency when said city is affected or likely to be affected by a public calamity and; WHEREAS, conditions of extreme peril to the safety of persons and property have arisen within said city, caused by x Fire __Flood _ Rain _Storm _ Riot _Epidemic Drought _Hazardous Waste _Energy Shortage Pollution _Earthquake commencing on or about 11:30 p.m. on the 81h day of October 2017 and; WHEREAS, the Rohnert Park City Council does hereby find that the aforesaid conditions of extreme peril did warrant and necessitate the proclamation of the existence of a local emergency; and WHEREAS, the Director of Emergency Services of the City of Rohnert Park did proclaim the existence of a local emergency within said city on the 9" day of October, 2017; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that said proclamation of existence of a local emergency, as issued by said City Manager/Emergency Services Director, is hereby ratified by the Rohnert Park City Council; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that said local emergency shall be deemed to continue to exist until its termination is proclaimed by the City Council of the City of Rohnert Park, Sonoma County, California. As contemplated in the Emergency Service Act contained in Government Code Section 8550 et seq., including Section 8558 c: -Fire __Flood _Rain _Storm _Riot _Epidemic Drought `_Hazardous Waste _Energy Shortage Air Pollution _Earthquake B. The aforesaid conditions commenced on or about I }.m. on the (" G, 6 r' , 20 13; and C. The area of the City which is endangered/imperiled is: or Vin_ Throughout the entire City The area within the following boundaries day of NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY PROCLAIMED that a local emergency exists in accordance with the findings set forth above. IT IS FURTHER PROCLAIMED AND ORDERED that during the existence of this local emergency, the powers, functions, and duties of the emergency organization of this City shall be those prescribed by state law and by ordinances, resolutions, and orders of this City. IT IS FURTHER PROCLAIMED AND ORDERED that this local emergency shall continue to exist until the City Council proclaims the termination of this local emergency. The City Council shall, at its next regularly scheduled meeting, or within 21 days of this proclamation, whichever first occurs, determine whether to continue the local emergency.
