MINUTES
Thursday, October 9, 2014
The Planning Commission of the City of Rohnert Park met this date in a regular session commencing at 6:00
p.m. in the City Hall Council Chambers, 130 Avram Avenue, with Chairperson Giudice presiding.
Call To Order
Chairperson Giudice called the meeting of the regular session to order at
approximately 6:00 p.m. with Chairperson Giudice leading the pledge.
Roll Call
Present: (5) Commissioners: Commissioner Giudice, Commissioner Blanquie,
Commissioner Haydon and Commissioner Borba and Commissioner Adams were
present.
Interim Director of Development Services, Marilyn Ponton, Technical Advisor,
Norm Weisbrod and Recording Secretary, Suzie Azevedo were present.
None.

Abstention
Acknowledgement of
Chairperson Giudice acknowledged the posting of the Agenda of this meeting in
Public Noticing
three (3) public places, per the requirements of the Brown Act.
Approval of Minutes
A motion was made by Commissioner Blanquie, seconded by Commissioner
Haydon to approve the September 11, 2014 minutes as presented. The motion
passed with a 5-0 vote (AYES: Adams, Giudice, Blanquie, Haydon, Borba;
NOES: 0; ABSENT: 0).
A motion was made by Commissioner Haydon, seconded by Commissioner
Blanquie to approve the September 25, 2014 minutes as presented. The motion
passed with a 5-0 vote (AYES: Adams, Giudice, Blanquie, Haydon, Borba;
NOES: 0; ABSENT: 0). _w

Appearances
Conditional Use Permit
Technical Advisor, Norm Weisbrod, presented the staff report. The applicant
proposes using the former University of Sports location for an indoor trampoline

arena. The trampoline arena features a number of trampoline related activities
primarily for customers starting at six (6) years old and up. They consider

The main entrance, lobby and reception will include a waiver sign -in desk

and video -safety instruction area.
• Various trampoline activity areas including the combo jumper for multiple
users, jump pillow room, four (4) lane foam pit, basketball slam, pickle ball
courts, video game area, jump pillow, toddler park and cafe table area.
On the Second floor of the operation they will offer the following activities (Exhibit

Six (6) party rooms. The party rooms consist of fifteen (15) guests on the
average and require two (2) employees per party. Birthday parties are
typically two (2) hours in length and include an hour of jump time.
A Wi-Fi cafe table area. This includes a concession stand for the sale of
new items.
Offices, rest rooms, and storage.
Mr. Weisbrod reviewed the operational details of the proposed trampoline arena
and stated that based on the analysis and findings of this report and the attached
resolution, Staff recommends that the Planning Commission, by motion, adopt
Resolution No. 2014-40 approving a Conditional Use Permit for Rebounderz
Indoor Trampoline Arena, subject to the findings and conditions of approval.
A brief discussion was held.
Chairperson Giudice opened the public hearing. The applicants, Jason and
Maggie Alexandridis were recognized and responded to Commission questions.
Also recognized, via telephone, was Rebounderz franchise representative, Mark
Early. The architect, Paul Gilger was also in attendance and spoke briefly to the
commission.
Members of the audience who spoke included: Riley Larchert, Sonoma State
University student, who had questions regarding sanitation and
maintenance/cleanliness of apparatus and how often the blocks are
replaced/cleaned in the foam pits. Also speaking on this topic was Dustin
Dematteo.
Chairperson Giudice closed the public hearing.
A motion was made by Commission Adams, seconded by Commissioner Borba to
adopt Resolution No. 2014-40 approving a Conditional Use Permit for
Rebounderz Indoor Trampoline Arena, subject to the findings and conditions of
approval. The motion passed with a 5-0 vote (AYES: Adams, Giudice, Blanquie,
Haydon, Borba; NOES: 0; ABSENT: 0).
