The Planning Commission of the City of Rohnert Park met this date in a regular session commencing at 7:00
p.m. in the City Hall Council Chambers, 130 Avram Avenue, with Chairperson Borba presiding.

Chairperson Borba called the meeting of the regular session to order at
approximately 7:00 p.m. with Commissioner Armstrong leading the pledge.
Present 0 Commissioners: Commissioner Borba, Commissioner Armstrong and
Commissioner Nordin were present. Commissioner Ahanotu and Commissioner
Nilson were excused.
Planning and Building Manager, Marilyn Ponton and Recording Clerk Suzie
Azevedo were present.
None.
Chairperson Borba acknowledged the posting of the Agenda of this meeting in
three (3) public places, per the requirements of the Brown Act.
None.
Upon motion by Commissioner Nordin, seconded by Commissioner Armstrong,
the minutes of the March 11,2010 meeting were approved as presented with a
3-0 vote.
Planning and Building Manager, Marilyn Ponton advised the Commission that the
applicant has requested withdrawal of the application at this time. Further
evaluation is necessary to determine the best location for their facility in this area.
A new application will be submitted as soon as a consensus has been reached.
Ms. Ponton provided the staff report. She stated that the applicant, Clearwire
LLC, proposes to collocate and install a total of three (3) panel antennas and
three (3) parabolic antennas, a remote radio unit pipe mounted on an existing
monopole located at 6340 Commerce Boulevard (behind Safeway) as well as
install an equipment cabinet to house electrical equipment for the proposed
collocation. The site currently features a single monopole and equipment cabinet
housing Sprint equipment, which received approvalfor construction at this
location in 2005. Ms. Ponton reviewed the specific details of the installation and
noted that included on the dais for the Commission's review was additional

information including an evaluation and analysis report provided by Hammett &
Edison with regard to Radio Frequency (RF) electromagnetic exposure. Ms.
Ponton recommended adoption and approval of Resolution No. 2010-09, as
conditioned.
Chairperson Borba opened the public hearing.
Commissioner Nordin inquired if adjoining property owners had been notified.
Ms. Ponton responded pursuant to State Planning Law, notices were mailed to
property owners within 300' of the project location.
There being no further comment, Chairperson Borba closed the public hearing.
A motion was made by CommissionerArmstrong, seconded by Commissioner
Nordin to adopt Planning Commission Resolution No. 2010-09, approving a use
permit and site plan and architectural review for installation of an antenna array
on a monopole and the installation of accessory equipment located at 6340
Commerce Boulevard. The motion passed with a 3-0 vote. (Commissioner
Ahanotu and Commissioner Nilson excused)
Ms. Ponton presented the staff report. She stated that the applicant, Clearwire

existing 110'tall lattice tower located at 5850 Labath Avenue. The tower currently
houses Verizon antennas and microwave dishes owned by Rural California
Broadcasting Corporation. The site is located adjacent to the KRCB radio station
building at the address noted. ln addition, an equipment cabinet is proposed to
house electricalequipment, a global positioning system (GPS) antenna and
provide for mounting of the cables and antennas. Ms. Ponton reviewed the
specific details of the installation and noted that included on the dais for the
Commission's review was additional information including an evaluation and
analysis report provided by Hammett & Edison with regard to Radio Frequency
(RF) electromagnetic exposure. She recommended adoption and approval of
resolution No. 2010-10, as conditioned.
Chairperson Borba opened the public hearing.
Nancy Dobbs, President and CEO of KRCB was recognized and noted forthe
record that the tower in question does not belong to KRCB. KRCB subleases
from separate entity.
Commissioner Nordin inquired if adjoining property owners had been notified.

A motion was made by CommissionerArmstrong, seconded by Commissionier

on a lattice tower and the installation of accessory equipment located at 5850
