A draft plan will be available in the near future. • The Community Center truss renovation project was besieged with delays so the Recreation Department offices are still located in the rear of the Community Center. We expect to be able to return to the lobby mid-August. • Park, picnic, field and tennis court uses booked in July= 717, revenue $2,100. • Pool rentals= 125 bookings, $3,229.50. • Total bookings at Community Center, Burton, Ladybug and Scout Hut buildings for July= 82,rental revenue= $11,900.62. • Program revenue(contract classes, Aquatics &Rec. Dept. programs) = 264 registrations totaling $21,385. CALLINAN SPORTS AND FITNESS CENTER • Membership sales for July were $13,146 compared to $14,623 in 2003. Membership sales continue to be slow. • We were host to a girls AAU basketball tournament on July 17 & 18. • We received a very favorable bid on new cardio equipment. We will be purchasing ten new treadmills, four upright stationary bicycles, four recumbent stationary bicycles, and four elliptical exercisers. The new equipment will replace the old equipment that was in constant need of maintenance. Hopefully the new cardio will attract new members. SENIOR CENTER • The front lobby has a new look thanks to the wonderful skills of our Public Works Department. A service window and counter was installed and the lobby area will be refurnished with some new furniture to give a more comfortable look. -- • Forty-one seniors went to Shodaki Indian Casino. Profit...$145.60 • Our Bingo Party and Hot Dog Friday was well attended. We had great prizes for the party and we sold Hot Dogs, soda, water, chips and brownies. Profit...$505.38 • Tom Thunderhorse and some local seniors produced a movie called`Bob". They premiered it at the Center. A donation was suggested. Profit...$45.00 • We took 19 seniors to the County Fair on Senior Day. Profit...$25.00 • We had our Annual Flea Market and Bake Sale this month. We sold tables to the public, sold goodies baked by our Baking Committee and the Center had a Rummage Table. Profit...$434.10 • William Allen made a$1,000.00 donation to the Senior Center in memory of his late wife Lee Allen. The money will be used to purchase a small copier for the front office and redecorate our front lobby. YOUTH AND TEENS • Camp enrollments continue to be low throughout our five camps. We cancelled one session of All Sorts of Sports camp due to low enrollment. Average session enrollment for our camps were: Teen Camp— 12 (max capacity 14) All Around the Town— 14 (max capacity 26) Burton Bunch—32 (max capacity 45) Ladybug Club—30 (max capacity 45) All Sorts of Sports— 10 (max capacity 45) We also had cancellations for some of our contract camps, such as Ziemer Brothers Soccer, and Science Camps. SPECIAL EVENTS • Holiday Arts & Crafts Faire letters and applications to 92 vendors were sent out the last week of July for our Nov. 27 &28 event. We've been getting a steady stream of inquiries into booth rentals for this event. AQUATICS • All five pools were in operation during July. The Press Democrat reported that this month had the lowest average temperature in sixty years. Unfortunately, this is reflected in the attendance levels at all pools. We were approximately 30% below normal levels in both lessons and Public Swim. Staff levels were reduced to reflect the low attendance.
