How to observe the Meeting: To maximize public safety while still maintaining transparency and public access, members of the public can observe the meeting on Cable Channel 26 or by visiting meeting central on our website https://www.rpcity.org/city_hall/city_council/meeting_central How to submit Public Comment: Members of the public may provide public comment by sending comments to the Clerk by email at publiccomment@rpcity.org prior to the item being called on the agenda. Sebastopol-No permits issued for sale of “Safe and Sane” Fireworks. Cancellation of Community shows throughout Sonoma County. Changing Landscape in Sonoma County 3 Ban the sale and use of “Safe and Sane” fireworks Ban the sale and use of “Safe and Sane” fireworks during the 2020 Fourth of July Amend Municipal Code adding restrictions on the use of “Safe and Sane” fireworks in commercial parking lots and add language allowing additional permitting requirements pertaining to fireworks booths Options Presented 4 Section 9.49.070 -Authorized use of state-approved fireworks. B. The use of state-approved fireworks is prohibited in any parking lot on any commercial property. Section 9.49.100 -Authorized use of state-approved fireworks. C. As a condition of permit issuance, the fire code official may impose such permit conditions regulating the manner in which fireworks stands are operated as may be deemed necessary to adequately protect public health and safety, and protect the health and safety of workers operating such fireworks stands, including the imposition of conditions to ensure compliance with any applicable orders of the Health Officer of the County of Sonoma and the State Public Health Officer, or with the State Fireworks Law or state regulations pertaining to fireworks. Section 9.49.120 -Temporary fireworks stand regulations. Fireworks stands shall at all times be operated in compliance with all permit conditions imposed by the fire code official. Council Direction 5 Section 9.49.100 –Denial of application Permit Issuance. C.
