A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROHNERT PARK
TO RECOGNIZE JUNETEENTH NATIONAL INDEPENDENCE DAY
AS A CITY OBSERVED HOLIDAY AND APPROVE AMENDMENT ONE TO ALL
MEMORANDUM OF AGREEMENTS AND
OUTLINES OF CERTAIN CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT,
FRINGE BENEFITS, AND SALARY TO INCLUDE SAID HOLIDAY
WHEREAS; On June 17, 2021, President Joseph Biden declared June 19th as Juneteenth
National Independence Day a federal holiday to commemorate the end of slavery in the United
States; and
WHEREAS, the City and it bargaining units have agreed to amend existing labor
agreements to include Juneteenth as an observed holiday;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Rohnert
Park that it does hereby authorize and approve:

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Manager is hereby authorized and
directed to execute documents pertaining to same for and on behalf of the City of Rohnert Park.

AMENDMENT ONE TO THE MEMORANDUM OF AGREEMENT
BETWEEN
CITY OF ROHNERT PARK AND THE ROHNERT PARK EMPLOYEES’
ASSOCIATION
1. PARTIES AND EFFECTIVE DATE
The parties to Amendment One to the Rohnert Park Employee’s Association Memorandum
of Agreement (“MOA”) are the City of Rohnert Park (“City”) and the Rohnert Park
Employee’s Association (RPEA). The effective date of Amendment One shall be March 8,
2022.
2. PURPOSE
The parties previously entered into MOA between the City and RPEA effective as of June 8,
2021. The City and RPEA hereby desire to amend the MOA as set forth below.
3. AMENDMENT
Section 3.1 is hereby modified to read in its entirety as follows:
3.1 Observed Holidays
Employees will receive the following thirteen and one-half (13½) holidays
annually. For each holiday, employees shall receive 8 hours of holiday pay.
Employees with alternate schedules that include shifts in excess of 8 hours will
only receive 8 hours of holiday pay. Employees will supplement paid holiday
with accrued leave time to account for holiday absences. Employees with
alternate schedules that include shifts less than 8 hours which fall on an observed
holiday shall use the excess paid holiday time within the same pay period.
Employees with alternate schedules who are not scheduled to work when a
holiday falls shall use the paid holiday time within the same pay period.
Employees covered by this section shall not be denied the use of paid holiday
time during the pay period in which the holiday occurs.

forth in the MOA between the City of Rohnert Park and RPEA shall remain if full
forces and effect.

Memorandum of Agreement (“MOA”) are the City of Rohnert Park (“City”) and the Rohnert
Park Public Safety Officer’s Association (RPPSOA). The effective date of Amendment One
shall be March 8, 2022.
2. PURPOSE
The parties previously entered into a MOA between the City and RPPSOA effective as of
June 8, 2021. The City and RPPSOA hereby desire to amend the MOA as set forth below.
3. AMENDMENT
Section 4.1 is hereby modified to read in its entirety as follows:

22, 2021. The City and SEIU hereby desire to amend the MOA as set forth below.
