1961/01/30 Other Minutes • Cn January 3eth, 1961, at 7:30 p.m. the4Rohnert rark recreation Commission met 'at the home of one of its members, Elizabeth Cochran. This meeting was held to formally organize the above Commission. The regular members of this Recreation Commission are: Dale Monroe, Thomas Gillons, Elizabeth Cochran, Maxine Menzies, Nancy Thiesfeld and Norman Francisco, who is an ex-oficio member representing the Rohnert Park Community Services District Board of Directors. Offices needed to organize and run the Commission were decided upon. They are as follows: Chairman, Secretary, Treasurer and Public Relations. Nominations for these positions were held with the following results: Chairman Dale Monroe Secretary Nancy Thiesfeld Treasurer Thomas Gillons Public Relations Thomas Gillons and kaxine Lenzies Term of !-embership for each member of the Commission was next decided upon. it was voted that there would be a rotating membership set up in the following manner: Two (2) Three (3) year memberships, two (2) two (2) year memberships and one (1) year membership. . Slips of paper with 1, 2, & 3 years were thrown into a bowl. The results of the drawing were as follows: Thomas Gillons - 3 year term of membership Maxine Menzies - 3 year term of membership Dale Monroe - 1 year term of membership Elizabeth Cochran - 2 year term of membership Nancy Thiesfeld e 2 year term of membership The name of the committee was then agreed upon to be the Rohnert park Recreation Commission. The Commission next worked on the forma ion of policy in the form of a recreation Ordnance which isto be presented to the Rohnert Park Community Services District on February 7th, 1961, at 8:00 p.m. for their approval. A time was set for the next meeting :rich was February 13th, 1961, at 7:30 at the home of Nancy Thiesfeld,. at which time, discussion of setting pool rates and further consideration of the park plan will be taken up. Appreciation is extended to the Rohnert Park Community eervices District Board of Directors for their delegation of handling the swimming pool rates and function to the hecreatlon Co: nittee. k�izabeth Cochran of the Recreation Commission is doing a c mparative tesearch Report on the past years of operation of the pool and will bring the entire Commission up to '?ate on this matter at the Commission's next meeting. The Commission felt that some immediate atuention to the clerical expense or sunpl.ies used in the functioning of the Commission should 'to set up by the . oard of Directors. The Commission closeditsmeetiee with the adoption of the 1st and 3rd Mondays of the month to be- regular meeting dates for the present time.
