i'dnutes for June 26, 171:Meeting:
On June 26, 1961, at 7:30 p.m., the Rohnert Park Recreation Commission
met at 6950 Commerce Boulevard, Cotati, California, for their regular
bi-monthly public meeting. Commissioners present were: Boyd Dice,
Norman Francisco, and Nancy Thiesfeld.
Reading of the June 19th, 1961, Recreation Commission meeting, Outgoing
Correspondence and Treasurer's Report were held over for the July 10th,
1961, meeting due to the absence of 1/2 of the Commission at this meeting.
No outstanding bills were presented. : rs. Thiesfeld was requested to obtain
conies of all outstanding bills so that they could be paid out of the
1960-61 Recreation Funds.
Under Old Business:
1r. Dice gave a resume of the June 20th, 1961, District Meeting pertaining
to recreation. He stated that the District approved giving, authority
to Jack Anderson, pool manager, and Bill +Jiggins, District riaintenance
man, to purchase a power mower for the pool area. (Mr. Francisco advised
that a rot ower mower had been purchased from Sears Roebuck in amount
of } /7 /) Mr. .Bice also stated the District would provide keys
411 to 69a0 Comm rce Boulevard, for use by members of the Commission. He also
stated that the District gave approval of development of the 1st 1/3 of
Alicia Park and that they advised the Commission to get bids on the cost
of the development. Mr. Bice also advised that the District approved the
Commission's 1961-62 Preliminary Budget.
The 1961-62 Recreation Budget was next discussed and iir. Francisco advised
that a more precise budget must be compiled explaining the ;20,000 requested
in the 1061-62 Preliminary ;Budget.
The Bike Rack project of the 20-30 Club was discussed. hr. Bice will
contact Jim Rollers of the 20-30 Club and re uest that he attend the
Commission's next meeting and present an estimate on the materials needed
for the racks.
Development of the 1st 1/3 of Alicia Park was next discussed and sir. Bice
pres,=nted an engineer's drawing by the Charles Marshall Engineering Gffice
of the parking lot. The Commission made a few minor changes in the
drawing and requested that Mr. Bice have Charles iiarshall's office make
the corrections and then that Mr. Bice obtain estimates on the cost of
paving the area.
The discussion of Recreation Activities and the Alicia Park Community
Building were held over for 1,he next meeting.
Discussion of the Swim Pool Concessions was held. Mr. Dice advised that
he had a discussion with Mr. Robinson, the concessionaire. Mr. Robinson
stated that he felt he would be unable to meet the $200.00 per month rental
portion of the contract. The con- ract was not signed to the date of this
meeting. The Commission felt that the concessions could be promoted and

advertised more than at present. The Commission decided to Wesent the
matter of the concession c^rtract to the District at their next meeting,
June 27, 1961.
During the meeting a representative of the Mormon Church came in and re-
quested rental of the Swim Pool. The rate of rental was expldned and
the nrrty was referred to the pool manager.
A letter was read from theAmerican Legion Cotati Post #103 invit' ne all members
of the Commission to the dedication ceremonies of the Cotati Veteran's War
Memorial Building on Tuesday, July Vic, 1961, at 2:30 p.m. in memorial Park,
Cotati, California. Mr. Ace stated he would attend and represent the
Rohnert Park Recreation Commission.
Under New Business:
no tonics were discussed.
The meeting was then adjourned.
