City Manager Callinan opened the public hearing concerning
Federal General Revenue Sharing funds and noted that a
communication had been received from Marlyn Rice, 847 Lakewood,
suggesting that $16,000 be appropriated for pre - school programs.
Mr. Jack Behl, 56 Allan Avenue, was recognized and informed
that the Cultural Arts group recommended that $100,000 be set
aside for the development of a community amphitheatre in
Benecia Park. Mr. Behl expressed that many activities could
use such a facility.
City Manager Callinan inquired if Mr. Behl knew how the
residents in 9°BF4 Neighborhood felt about such a project.
Mr. Behl indicated that many of the residents in the area were
in favor of the amphitheatre and that a well planned facility
would be put to good use.
City Manager Callinan asked if it was intended to have both
nighttime and daytime activities.
Mr. Behl responded in the affirmative and informed that the
Cotati °s Recreation Director had informed him that the Cotati
Plaza was very much in demand, but because of noise problems
associated with the plaza its use has to be somewhat limited.
City 11a.nager Callinan asked if an amphitheatre might be best
located at the high school football stadium or at the college.
1vIr. Behl expressed. that the city should have an amphitheatre
because many of the community's talented individuals could
take advantage of using such a facility.
The City Manager, Peter M. Callinan, acting in the capacity
of Rohnert Park's Chief Administrative /Executive Officer,held
a hearing and met this date with various interested residents
in the City Offices, 6750 Commerce Boulevard, Rohnert Park,
in order to obtain input concerning Federal General Revenue
Sharing funds expenditures.
Call to Order
City Manager Callinan called the meeting 'co order at approxi-
mately 6:35 p.m.
Attendance
Present for all or part of the meeting: City Manager Callinan,
Jack Behl, 'Thomas Stogdell, and George Louer of the Rohnert
Park -- Cotati Times, and Finance Director Charbonneau.
Public Hearing
City Manager Callinan explained that he had scheduled a public

hearing to solicit citizen input concerning the use of Federal
Revenue Sharing; Funds
General Revenue Sharing Funds. He informed that the city
anticipated receiving approxiriately $252,000 for the entitle-
ment period of September, 1978 through September, 1979, and
that most of the funds had been designated for use in developing
the community and recreation center on the southwest corner
of Rohnert Park Expressway and Snyder Lane. He also informed
that notice of the public hearing had been given in the local
newspaper.

City TAanager Callinan inquired if anyone else desired to speak
concerning the use of Federal General Revenue Sharing Funds.
DZr. Stogdell, 7323 College View Drive, Apt. 12, was recognized
and indicated that he desired to speak regarding Storer Cable
TV's request for a rate increase.
City Manager Callinan explained that the proposed rate increase
for Storer Cable TV would be considered at the Council meeting
beginning at 7.00 p.m.
There being no one further desiring to be heard, City Manager
Callinan closed the public hearing and informed that comments
would be referred to the City Council for its consideration.
Adjournment There being no further business, City Manager Callinan adjourned
the meeting at approximately 6.55 puma
