Statement of Purpose
The purpose of this course is to familiarize the bicycle officer in the daily operation of the
bicycle in a patrol function and to provide them with the skills and techniques used in bicycle
patrol.
Other objectives that will be achieved are: Proper Suspect Apprehension and Arrest Techniques,
Riding Techniques on Various Surfaces, Object Jumping, Stair Climbing and Descending.
Course Objectives
1. The student will demonstrate the proper riding techniques used when riding through various
types of terrains.
2. The student will demonstrate the proper techniques for object jumping.
3. The student will demonstrate the proper technique for stair climbing and descending.
4. The student will properly demonstrate the “slide” technique of suspect apprehension.
5. The student will properly demonstrate the “stealth” technique of suspect apprehension.
6. The student will properly demonstrate the “crossover” technique of suspect apprehension.
7. The student will successfully pass the written portion of the test.

iii. 415 PC with two subjects fighting, fleeing from officers on foot
