AFFORDABLE HOUSING - Information, Programs & Efforts - HOUSING STUDY - Each year the Community Development Commission (CDC) prepares an annual report of housing activities. This report was distributed to Council members earlier this year. The Community Development Commission should review its housing activities each year. This review can be incorporated in the Housing Study Session. Another copy of the CDC annual housing report was included with the agenda packet. This report catalogues CDC housing activities and costs in the last fiscal year plus lists affordable housing available in the community. Housing issues that the Council may wish to discuss include: • Definition of Housing Affordability; • Redevelopment Agency Housing Set-Aside; • Current and Possible CDC Programs and Projects (New Construction, Conversion, Homebuyer, & Rehabilitation); • Homeless Assistance (Shelter and Homeless Prevention Programs); • Federal Housing Programs (CDBG, HOME, Homeless Assistance, & Categorical Programs); • Preservation of Affordable Housing (Country Club Village); • Article 34 Election; • Housing Financing (Tax Credits, Bonds, & Private Financing); • The Housing Element of the General Plan (HCD and ABAG); • Relocation Assistance. 4. 2000-2001 Budget • Preliminary Review • Community Promotion Budget Format/Request forms - SAMPLE - County Human Services Commission • Recreation Department Evaluation/Structure 5.
