May 12, 1998
The Members of the Community Development Commission of the City of Rohnert Park met this
date immediately after the City Council meeting at approximately 10:20 p.m. in the City Offices,
6750 Commerce Boulevard, Rohnert Park, with Chairperson Pro Tempore Vidak-Martinez presiding.
1. CALL TO ORDER: Chairperson Pro Tempore Vicki Vidak-Martinez called the Community
Development Commission to order at approximately 10:20 p.m.
ROLL CALL Present: (4) Commission Members Flores, Mackenzie, Reilly,
and Chairperson Pro Tempore Vidak-Martinez,
Absent: (1) Chairperson Spiro (due to illness)
Staff present for all or part of the meeting: Executive Director/City Manager Netter,
City Attorney Flitner and Assistant City Manager Leivo.
2. APPROVAL OF MINUTES: Upon motion by Commission Member Flores, seconded by
Commission Member Mackenzie, minutes of April 28, 1998 were unanimously approved as
submitted.
3. APPROVAL OF BILLS: Upon motion by Commission Member Mackenzie, seconded by
Commission Member Reilly, the bills presented per the attached list in the amount of
$4,900.00 were unanimously approved.
4. ACKNOWLEDGING EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR/SECRETARY'S REPORT:
The Executive Director/Secretary's report on posting of the agenda was acknowledged.
5. UNSCHEDULED PUBLIC APPEARANCES: Chairperson Pro Tempore Vidak-Martinez stated
that in compliance with State Law (The Brown Act), citizens wishing to make a comment
may do so at this time. No one responded.
6. SALE OF SHARED HOUSING PROPERTY located at 7470 Mercedes Way
Executive Director Netter reviewed the staff report provided for this item and advised a
public hearing had been duly noticed and scheduled at this time.
PUBLIC HEARING: Chairperson Pro Tempore Vicki Vidak-Martinez opened the public hearing
at approximately 10:23 p.m.
Linda Branscomb, 21 Anne, asked why the City chose to sell this home. She signified the
understanding that the program had problems and that Petaluma People's Services took over.
--Executive Director Netter responded there were some complaints from the neighbors.
There being no one further desiring to speak, Chairperson Pro Tempore Vidak-Martinez
closed the public hearing at approximately 10:25 p.m.
Executive Director Netter responded to Commission question on the above-referenced
complaints that Morris Turner worked for the City in consultation with staff on this item,
and he also recommended relocating this shared living home to another location.

Resolution No.
98-04 Approving the Sale of Commission Property Located at 7470 Mercedes Way, Rohnei
Park, California, and Authorizing the Executive Director to Complete the Sale
Upon motion by Commission Member Flores, seconded by Commission Member Reilly, an
unanimously approved with the absence of Chairperson Spiro, reading of the resolution wm
waived and Resolution No. 98-04 was adopted.
7. REPLACEMENT HOUSING UNITS/Discussion: Executive Director Netter reviewed the sta
report provided for this item and responded to Commission questions. Staff recommenc
that funds from the above-reviewed sale of the Mercedes Way shared housing property e
back into the Community Development Commission, and to research additional sites fi
another shared living home. Commission concurred and requested staff to specificall
signify in the upcoming CDC budget the amount of money returned to the Communii
Development Commission from the sale of the above-referenced shared housing property.
8. MISCELLANEOUS STAFF REPORTS: None.
9. MATTERS FROM COMMISSION MEMBERS: None.
10. ADJOURNMENT:There being no further business, Chairperson Pro T_empore Vidak-Martine
adjourned the meeting at approximately 10:30 p.m.
