Carl Leivo. Mr. Leivo reviewed for the Commission his
background and what his duties will entail with the City of
Rohnert Park.
Pet Meals on
Wheels Commissioner Kennedy acknowledged Elaine Sichel , Program
Coordinator, Marine Humane Society. Ms. Sichel elaborated in
detail how the program works and the best way to get the program
started. She felt that the most important qualities for a well-
run program is patience and consistency. Stores will ask alot
of questions and will be very particular about where the
donation box is kept. Consistency is important because the
program won't work if you can't rely on volunteers. Discussion
followed.

Commissioner Kennedy. Ms. Hanlon advised that there was nothing
further to report concerning the Codding Center. She stated
that plans are to use the existing building as is.

completion of construction. The possibility of having senior
volunteer help was discussed.

• the communication he received from Congressman Bosco concerning

communications relating to the program called "Are You OK?".
This is a service for residents within their city who desire a
daily telephone check which will ask "ARE YOU OK?" . Police or
Fire Department personnel will check on the welfare of
individuals who fail to answer a call . Copy of correspondence
is attached to the original of these minutes.
Plaque for
Peter McCormick Caroline Fabio displayed to the Commission the plaque that was
prepared in memory of Peter McCormick and his successful efforts
in establishing the Senior Center. This plaque will ultimately
be displayed in a prominent place in the new Codding Center
Building.

expressed her discontent with the staff and the scheduling for
senior citizen activities. She advised that the "SCAN" , in her
opinion, is not very informative and feels something more should
be done. Discussion followed.
