extended the apology of Council Member Spiro for being absent

Mr. Leivo reviewed for the Board that last spring the Task Force
and a few others put together a list of needs that were
necessary at the Codding Center. Mr. Leivo elaborated on these
plans stressing the confinements that exist . There are
conflicts within our goals, our needs and the directions we want
to go and therefore, compromises need to be made. Mr. Leivo
continued to discuss the design of the Center. He requested
that the Seniors be objective in looking over the plans, to
bear in mind that this center is for the community in general ,
but that the Seniors have priority. In looking at the plans it
was pointed out that there are spaces within the Codding Center
that are leased to outside concerns. Mr. Leivo advised that as
these leased spaces become available, the City will be able to
acquire that area for additional usage. Mr. Leivo stressed that
the purpose of this particular meeting was to bring the Board up
to date on the "design phase" of the Center, and is seeking
insight and input from the audience. If approved, the City can
then start on the construction drawing of the Center. Mr. Leivo
