1993/07/15 Senior Citizens Advisory Commission Minutes All CITY OF ROHNERT PARK SENIOR CITIZENS ADVISORY COMMISSION MINUTES July 15 , 1993 The Senior Citizens Advisory Commission of the City of Rohnert Park met this date in regular session commencing at 1 :05 p.m. at Codding Center , 6800 Hunter Drive, Suite A, Rohnert Park , with Chairman Chase presiding . Call to Order Chairman Chase called the regular session to order at approximately 1 :05 p .m. and led the Pledge of Allegiance. Roll Call Present : ( 4) Commissioners Chase , Jurgiel , Kennedy and Lyons Absent : ( 1) Commissioner Jennis Staff present for all or part of the meeting : Recreation Supervisor, Mary Hanlon, Senior Scheduler, Vicki Wilkerson , and Councilwoman Spiro. Approval of Minutes The minutes for the meeting of May 20th were approved 411 as written. Acknowledging Posting of the Agenda Chairman Chase stated that the Secretary/Supervisor had posted the Agenda as required by law in three ( 3) public locations within the time period required. Unscheduled Public Appearances None Communications Chairman Chase read a letter from the Senior Center Board requesting a board member and an alternate to serve on the board of directors . Chairman Chase will be the representative and Ann Kennedy will be the alternate . Items from the City Council Councilwoman Spiro gave an update on a bench for the golf course. The bench would cost approximately $231 . Councilwoman Spiro will approach the Rotary Club for a possible donation. Program Specialist Report Recreation Supervisor , Mary Hanlon , gave updates on souvenir sales the Kitchen Kut-Ups performance ($71 , so 411 far) , the new S.C.A.N . format , the barbecue and auction on August 7 , new line dancing club on Wednesday mornings , and the art show and sale proceeds ($187 . 50 ) . Senior Page - 1 Senior Citizens Advisory Commission Minutes July 15 , 1993 Scheduler Report Senior Scheduler , Vicki Wilkerson , reported on the Drop-In Center attendance for June as 2 , 142 visitors , the upcoming Moonlighters tea dances , and stated that $1 , 069 . 58 had been made on last year' s tea dances . Matters from Commissioners Chairman Chase requested that staff check into putting a notice in the water bills announcing Senior Advisory Commission meetings . Chairman Chase asked Councilwoman Spiro about the Senior Center expanding into the C.O.Y.F. area of the building. She stated that a meeting was being held next month with the City Manager to decide that space ' s future . Commissioner Jurgiel made a motion that Chairman Chase write a letter to the Council expressing the seniors ' desire to move into the C . O .Y . F. section of the building . Commissioner. Kennedy seconded the motion. Meeting Adjourned There being no further business to discuss and no one further desiring to be heard, Commissioner Jurgiel made a motion for adjournment at 1 : 40 p .m. which was seconded by Commissioner Lyons .
