1991/01/17 Senior Citizens Advisory Commission Minutes 410 CITY OF ROHNERT PARK SENIOR CITIZENS ADVISORY COMMISSION MINUTES January 17 , 1991 The Senior Citizens Advisory Commission of the City of Rohnert Park met this date in regular session commencing at 3 : 00 p .m. at Codding Center, 100 Enterprise Drive, Rohnert Park, with Chairman Chase presiding . Call to Order Chairman Chase called the regular session to order at approximately 3 : 00 p .m. and led the Pledge of Allegiance. Moment of Silence Chairman Chase called for a moment of silence in respect for service people in the Persian Gulf . Roll Call Present : (3) Commissioners Lyons , Chase , and Kennedy Absent : (2) Commissioners Jennis and Jurgiel Staff present for all or part of the meeting: Recreation Supervisor, Mary Hanlon and Program Assistant , Wendy Audiss . Approval of Minutes Upon a motion by Commissioner Kennedy and seconded by Commissioner Lyons , the minutes of December 20 , 1990 were approved by the following vote: AYES : ( 3) Commissioners Lyons , Chase, and Kennedy . NAYES : None Adding Non- Agendaed Items None Acknowledging Posting of the Agenda Chairman Chase stated that the Secretary/Supervisor had posted the Agenda as required by law in three ( 3 ) public locations within the time period required. Unscheduled Public Appearances None Communications Chairman Chase read a letter he had written to the City Council regarding the conditions and status of senior vehicles . Discussion followed . Page - 1 Senior Citizens Advisory Commission Minutes January 17 , 1991 • Scheduled Public Appearances Francis Moore of the Community Redevelopment Committee working with the Community Development Committee of Rohnert Park discussed assistance available to seniors in getting low interest loans to repair their homes . Discussed different options available for home repairs . Discussion followed regarding rent appeals board issues . Recreation Supervisor Hanlon expressed regrets for Councilwoman Spiro's failure to attend today' s meeting due to illness . Senior Activities Update Program Assistant Audiss arrived at 3 : 37 p .m. and gave an update of senior activities including the tea dance, knitting machine class , volunteer luncheon, slide show, Reno trips , a trip to People Are Talking, and a dinner/dance . She also stated the S . C .A.N. mailing list now adds up to 1 , 200 and gave an update on the status of the senior van . Discussion followed. Jurgiel Arrives At 3 : 30 p .m. Commissioner Jurgiel arrived.
