1991/08/15 Senior Citizens Advisory Commission Minutes i CITY OF ROHNERT PARK SENIOR CITIZENS ADVISORY COMMISSION MINUTES August 15 , 1991 The Senior Citizens Advisory Commission of the City of Rohnert Park met this date in regular session commencing at 3 : 07 p .m. at Codding Center , 6800 Hunter Drive, Suite A, Rohnert Park, with Chairman Chase presiding . Call to Order Chairman Chase called the regular session to order at approximately 3 : 07 p.m. and led the Pledge of Allegiance. Roll Call Present : ( 4) Commissioners Jennis , Jurgiel , Lyons , and Chase Absent : (1 ) Commissioner Kennedy Staff present for all or part of the meeting : Recreation Supervisor, Mary Hanlon and Program Assistant , Wendy Audiss . Approval of Minutes Upon a motion by Commissioner Lyons and seconded by Commissioner Kennedy, the minutes of June 20 , 1991 were approved by the following vote : AYES : ( 4) Commissioners Jennis , Jurgiel , Lyons , and Chase NAYS : None Adding Non- Agendaed Items None Acknowledging Posting of the Agenda Chairman Chase stated that the Secretary/Supervisor had posted the Agenda as required by law in three ( 3 ) public locations within the time period required. Unscheduled Public Appearances None Communications Chairman Chase read a letter he had written regarding concerns in possible reductions of funds to the hungry and a letter to the City Council requesting usage of the Dan van for senior trips 410 instead of the Sunshine Bus . He read a letter he had received from Citizens Against Government Waste regarding the locations of the government ' s chief financial officers . Parry. - 1 Senior Citizens Advisory Commission Minutes 41/ August 15 , 1991 Scheduled Public Appearances None Senior Activities Program Assistant Audiss updated the Commission on activities including the Riggs forum, Dan van, tea dance, Fun After 50 ' s Country Faire , and future trips . Matters from the Commissioners Commissioner Jennis expressed concern over commissioners being informed of possible cuts in state funding for the Senior Scheduler position. Supervisor Hanlon informed the Commission of an upcoming meeting with the County Board of Supervisors to request they help fund the scheduler position . Their attendance and/or letters to the Supervisors was requested. Commissioner Jennis discussed proposed legislative reduction of cap on Social Security earnings for seniors . Discussion was held on the recycling program for apartment complexes . 11, Commissioner Chase suggested the Commission consider setting some goals . Commissioner Lyons noted that this was the anniversary of the eleventh year of the Commission . Meeting Adjourned There being no further business to discuss and no one further desiring to be heard , a motion was made by Commissioner Jennis at approximately 3 : 41 p.m. to adjourn the meeting which was seconded by Commissioner Jurgiel and unanimously approved.
