SENIOR CITIZENS ADVISORY COMMISSION MINUTES
September 19 , 1991
The Senior Citizens Advisory Commission of the
City of Rohnert Park met this date in regular
session commencing at 3 : 00 P .M. at Codding Center ,
6800 Hunter Drive , Suite A, Rohnert Park, with
Chairman Chase presiding .
Call to Order Chairman Chase called the regular session to order
at approximately 3 : 00 p .m. and led the Pledge of
Allegiance.
Roll Call Present : (5) Commissioners Jennis , Jurgiel ,
Kennedy , Lyons , and Chase
Staff present for all or part of the meeting :
Recreation Supervisor, Mary Hanlon and Program
Specialist , Wendy Audiss .
Approval of
Minutes Upon a motion by Commissioner Jurgiel and seconded
by Commissioner Kennedy , the minutes of August
411 15 , 1991 were approved by the following vote :
AYES: ( 5 ) Commissioners Jennis , Jurgiel ,
Kennedy , Lyons , and Chase
NAYES : None
Noted was a change from Assistant to Specialist in
Wendy Audiss ' title .

Posting of
the Agenda Chairman Chase stated that the
Secretary/Supervisor had posted the Agenda as
required by law in three ( 3 ) public locations
within the time period required.

Senior
Activities Program Specialist Audiss updated the Commission
on the Drop-In Center statistics and upcoming
activities including: computer class , cruise
party , line dancing , marionette-making class , and
Reno trips.
Matters
from the
Commissioners Commissioner Jennis expressed concerns that there
be assistance completing the forms for those who
apply for the discounted P .G. & E. rates .
Discussion was held on the uses and distribution
of the Senior Resource Guide .
The Commission discussed setting some goals and
decided on a goal to concentrate on writing to
their respective legislative representatives more
often on issues pertaining to seniors .
Commissioner Jurgiel discussed the idea of making
teddy bears for children who come into contact
with police officers as a method of soothing them.
Contact will be made with the Public Safety
Department to determine this project ' s
411 feasibility .
City Picnic Supervisor Hanlon reminded the Commission of the
City picnic on Sunday , September 29 , at Alicia
Park.
Meeting
Adjourned There being no further business to discuss and no
one further desiring to be heard , a motion was
made by Commissioner Jennis at approximately 3 : 50
p.m. to adjourn the meeting which was seconded by
Commissioner Jurgiel and unanimously approved.
