1991/10/17 Senior Citizens Advisory Commission Minutes (3) Senior Citizens Advisory Commission Minutes October 17 , 1991 411 Communications None Scheduled Public Appearances None Senior Activities Program Specialist Audiss requested the Program Specialist Report be made a part of the agenda . Program Specialist Audiss gave an update on activities including the Drop-In Center statistics, rental of facility information, breakfast brunch, anniversary breakfast on November 15 , the Thanksgiving dinner on November 26 , survey, and upcoming board training . Commissioner Kennedy asked when the sweatshirts would be done for the Senior Center. Program Specialist Audiss will bring up at the board meeting. Discussion followed. Senior Scheduler Scheduler Wilkerson would like to address the issue of services that are not being taken advantage of that the Center offers . She has formed a "Free Service Committee" to make these 411 services known to seniors which will also be included in the S.C.A.N. Scheduler Wilkerson is working on a pamphlet to be included in the water bills . Discussion followed regarding ways to reach more people. Matters from the Commissioners Commissioner Jurgiel updated the Commission on the walking club. Commissioner Lyons inquired as to whether or not the person who does the blood pressure clinic for the S.N.A.P. program is qualified. Chairman Chase express concerns over government waste. Discussion on overall problems followed. Commissioner Jennis asked that the Commission pick one issue at a time and focus on this . Commissioner Chase will contact the Commissioners to discuss topics to be presented at the next meeting . Sign at Hunter and Enterprise Recreation Supervisor Hanlon updated the 411 Commission regarding Commissioner's Jurgiel 's request for better signage at Hunter and Enterprise .
