1992/09/17 Senior Citizens Advisory Commission Minutes 411 CITY OF ROHNERT PARK SENIOR CITIZENS ADVISORY COMMISSION MINUTES September 17 , 1992 The Senior Citizens Advisory Commission of the City of Rohnert Park met this date in regular session commencing at 1 :00 p.m. at Codding Center, 6800 Hunter Drive, Suite A, Rohnert Park , with Chairman Chase presiding. Call to Order Chairman Chase called the regular session to order at approximately 1 : 00 p.m. and led the Pledge of Allegiance . Roll Call Present : ( 5) Commissioners Chase, Kennedy , Jurgiel , Jennis , and Lyons Staff present for all or part of the meeting : Recreation Supervisor, Mary Hanlon, Program Specialist , Wendy Audiss , and Councilwoman Spiro. Approval of Minutes A motion to approve the minutes for the meeting of 110 August 16 was made by Commissioner Jennis, seconded by Commissioner Lyons and unanimously approved. Acknowledging Posting of the Agenda Chairman Chase stated that the Secretary/Supervisor had posted the Agenda as required by law in three ( 3) public locations within the time period required. Unscheduled Public Appearances Lari Jordan, 7609 Burton Avenue, Rohnert Park, stated she still had not heard anything from HUD. She wanted to remind the Commissioners that they said they would keep after HUD. Communications Commissioner Kennedy read a note regarding a request for benches in Rohnert Park from Security Pacific Bank. They are on hold due to the bank merger . Program Specialist Report Program Specialist Audiss reported on the penny jar , bench donation by Herb Lyons , staff change, mug rack, Senior Center statistics and donations , and candidate social . Scholarship Program Recreation Supervisor, Mary Hanlon, informed the Commission of the Recreation Department ' s new 411 scholarship program. Page - 1 Senior Citizens Advisory Commission Minutes September 17 , 1992 Matters from the Commissioners Commissioner Jennis read a resolution stating the function of the Senior Advisory Commission . She felt the Commission should have a goal to sponsor a seminar to explain all the free services . Discussion followed on the attendance at the Commission meetings and how to spread the word about issues of importance to seniors . Commissioner Kennedy talked about the fire and medical ambulance program that the City of Sonoma has . Councilwoman Spiro took a brochure on the program and will pass it on to the City Council Meeting Adjourned There being no further business to discuss and no one further desiring to be heard, a motion was made by Commissioner Jurgiel at approximately 2 : 02 p.m. to adjourn the meeting which was seconded by Commissioner Jennis and unanimously approved . 411 Chairman ATTEST : Mary Hanlon `L Recreation Supervisor 410 Page - 2
