SENIOR CITIZENS ADVISORY COMMISSION MINUTES
November 16, 1995
The Senior Citizens Advisory Commission of the City of Rohnert Park met this
date in regular session commencing at 1:06 p.m. at the Rohnert Park Senior
Center, 6800 Hunter Drive, Suite A, Rohnert Park, with Vice Chair Kennedy
presiding.
Call to Order Vice Chair Kennedy called the regular session to order at approximately l:06 p.m.
and led the Pledge of Allegiance.
Roll Call Present: (4) Commissioners Brubaker, Jurgiel, Kennedy and Lyons
Absent: (1) Commissioner Chase
Staff present for all or part of the meeting: Recreation Supervisor, Mary Hanlon;
Program Specialist, Wendy Audiss; and Councilwoman Linda Spiro.
Approval of
Minutes A motion was made to accept the minutes for the meetings of September 21 was
made by Commissioner Brubaker, seconded by Commissioner Jurgiel and
unanimously approved.

Posting of
the Agenda Vice Chair Kennedy stated that the Secretary/Supervisor had posted the Agenda
as required by law in three (3) public locations within the time period required.

City Council
Liaison Report Councilwoman Spiro thanked the Commission for their understanding of her
absence at the last Senior Advisory Commission meeting due to the death of her
mother. She also asked the Commission's opinion on the now televised City
Council meetings. The Senior Advisory Commission would like to see both the
live broadcast and the rerun the next day. Councilwoman Spiro announced that
the Council had a meeting with American Golf and that changes in their
management were discussed.

0 Program Specialist
Report Program Specialist, Wendy Audiss, updated the Commission on the following
activities: Sizzler Fun Night proceeds were $85; Tupperware party proceeds were
$50; and 5th Anniversary Bingo proceeds were $620. The next anniversary party
will be semi-annual and is scheduled for May 18, 1996. The dance on October 10
had 100 participants with proceeds of$201. Saturday dances were cancelled due
to low attendance. The Baking Committee donations for October were $18.15.
Next Tuesday is the Thanksgiving luncheon at the Community Center. December
2 will be children's shopping day at the Senior Craft Shoppe. December 8 will be
the Christmas potluck luncheon, and December 20 will be the Holiday Open House
that is hosted by the post office employees.
In October the Center had 48 activities with total attendance being 6,655. There
were 71 registrations, total fees collected were $4,261.83. The Sunshine Bus had
178 riders and 96 people went on trips. There will be a clothing sale January 19 &
20 and a Super Bowl party on January 28.
Reappointments Recreation Supervisor Hanlon reminded Commissioners Lyons and Kennedy that
their appointments were up in December and to contact City Hall if they're
interested in being reappointed.
Matters from
Commissioners Commissioner Brubaker attended a function in Windsor that honored women
411 veterans. She talked with Lynn Woolsey's representative and reminded her that
Lynn Woolsey is invited to attend the May Senior Advisory Commission meeting.
Meeting
Adjourned There being no further business to discuss and no one further desiring to be heard,
Commissioner Jurgiel made a motion for adjournment at 1:37 p.m. which was
seconded by Commissioner Brubaker and unanimously approved.
