2003/09/18 Senior Citizens Advisory Commission Minutes CITY OF ROHNERT PARK SENIOR CITIZENS ADVISORY COMMISSION MINUTES September 18, 2003 The Senior Citizens Advisory Commission of the City of Rohncrt Park met this date in regular session commencing at l:00 p.m. at the Senior Center, 6800 Hunter Drive, Suite A, Rohnert Park, with Chair Todd presiding. Call to Order Chair Todd called the regular session to order at approximately 1:00 p.m. and led the Pledge of Allegiance. Roll Call Present: (5) Commissioners Kral, Todd, Cassinelli, Tringali, and Kennedy Absent: (0) Staff present for all or part of the meeting: Recreation Specialist Wendy Audiss, City Council liaison Armando Flores Approval of Minutes The minutes of the regular meeting of July 17, 2003 were unanimously approved as submitted. Acknowledging Posting of the Agenda Chair Todd acknowledged that the Agenda was posted as required by law in three (3) public locations within the time period required. Unscheduled Public Appearances None Scheduled Public Appearances None City Council Liaison Report Armando Flores spoke about the Casino issue, and handed out a site map of the proposed project. The Tribe is a sovereign nation, so does not require permission from county or city to build. The council is discussing working together as neighbors to cooperate regarding roads, overpasses ,etc. and to form a mutually beneficial partnership. Discussion followed. Our monthly casino trips are doing well and making a bit of profit for the Center. No Money Auction is coming up in August. We have received several contributions in memory of participants who have passed away. Variety Show auditions are over and rehearsals will begin in October. See attached for statistics. Park& Rec Liaison Absent Matters from Discussion about setting up a trip to Thunder Valley Casino near Sacramento.
