SENIOR CITIZENS ADVISORY COMMISSION MINUTES
November 20, 2003
The Senior Citizens Advisory Commission of the City of Rohnert Park met this
date in regular session commencing at 1:00 p.m. at the Senior Center, 6800
Hunter Drive, Suite A, Rohnert Park, with Chair Todd presiding.
Call to Order Chair Todd called the regular session to order at approximately 1:00 p.m. and led
the Pledge of Allegiance.
Roll Call Present: (4) Commissioners Todd, Kral, Tringali, Cassinelli
Absent: (0)
Staff present for all or part of the meeting: Recreation Specialist Wendy Audiss,
Recreation Coordinator Vicki Wilkerson, City Council liaison Armando Flores,
Park & Recreation Commissioner Gaye Carlson.
Approval of
Minutes The minutes of the regular meeting of September 18, 2003 were unanimously
approved as submitted.
Acknowledging
Posting of
the Agenda Chair Todd acknowledged that the Agenda was posted as required by law in three
(3) public locations within the time period required.

City Council
Liaison Report Armando Flores spoke Ann Kennedy's resignation. She was appointed by Jake
Mackenzie. Letters of reappointment have been sent out to those commissioners
whose terms are up. invitations to the City's Tree Lighting are going out 1'week
in December. The event will be at the new library. City Council on Tuesday will
be selecting a new mayor and vice mayor. Sr. Advisory Commissioners and the

public are invited to the installation ceremony (date TBA). Armando is available
for questions/answers at any time.
Recreation Services
Manager Report Guy Miller was absent.
Park& Rec Liaison Gaye Carlson reported that the Park& Recreation Commission is in transition,
now has seven members (up from five). They are discussing new duties, how to
help with difficulties in parks re: crime and vandalism. The commission is more
important due to changing demographics.
Recreation Spec. Wendy Audiss reported on the change in her duties— she is no longer at the
Senior Center, but has an office at the Community Center is working with the
youth programs.
Recreation Coord. Vicki Wilkerson reported on September and October participation stats, revenues,
baking committee. The cruise brought in $650 to the Senior Center. Variety
show report is still be worked on. Two new rental groups. Van trips now being
coordinated by volunteer Martha Waller. Holiday Party 12/16, 3 choirs to sing,
turkeys to give away from National Bank of the Redwoods. Christmas CD being
sold at the Senior Center, with $5 of each purchase being donated to the Senior
Center. New TV donated by family of John Mazurek, who recently passed away.
Matters from
Commissioners
Bus service to Kaiser in Rohnert Park. Bus line did go all the way to Kaiser, now
it doesn't. Per Armando Flores, this is a budget situation, but Sonoma County
Transit is reevaluating. A letter from Senior Advisory may be helpful, City
Council could write a letter, too.
Meeting
Adjourned There being no further business to discuss and no one further desiring to be heard,
it was moved by Commissioner Tringali and seconded to adjourn the meeting at
:30p.m.
