BOARD OF DIRECTORS
MEETING August 4th, 1994
MEETING CALLED TO ORDER BY PRES. JERRY LEMONTT AT 1:17 p.m.

The minutes of the 7/7/94 meeting were read and corrected as follows:
It was duly noted that Ann Kennedy was present, but had been marked
absent in error. Correction made and noted.
THERE WERE NO UNSCHEDULED APPEARANCES.
NEW BUSINESS: JIM URENS was honored as volunteer for the month of August.
MARIE CHECCHI was nominated as volunteer of the month for Sept.
KITCHEN CUT UP'. SOUVENIERS SOLD BY THE SENIOR CENTER AMOUNTED TO OVER
$1300. WITH $500. designated for the Drop-In Center.
BOARD MEMBER REPORTS:
FUN AFTER FIFTY CLUB - There were 355 members during the month of July. We are
working full speed now towards our annual fair. Tickets
and flyers are now being printed up for distribution.
DINING SITE - Hazel Brubaker reported a lot of illness, resulting in
increases in home deliveries. Volunteers desperately
needed to distribute lunches to home bound seniors.
CRAFT SHOPPER - No report - Evelyn Kim not present.
SENIOR ADVISORY COMM - A letter has been sent to Linda Spiro regarding her lack of
appearance at the Sr. Advisory meeting of 7/21/94. An
alternate is needed to fill in. Linda claimed she did call
in sick at that meeting, but it was noted that she should be
available to attend functions and to work hand in hand with
the seniors. A letter will be sent from the Senior Center Bd.
of Directos that we NEED a representative or alternate to find
out what is going on.
A draft will be drawn up showing time spent and monies brought
in by various groups, sort of a visual sign of what we do as
Seniors.
SENIOR CENTER BD. MEETING
August 4th, 1994
SENIOR ADVISORY COMM. CON'T - Members of the Senior Board of Directors were requested to
attend the next Rohnert Park City Council meeting. We will make
arrangements to go via the Sunshine Bus, as most seniors do not
want to drive at night. e
SENIOR CENTER Wendy Audiss reported that a grant had been received.
InJuly there were 2497 seniors attending the Drop-in Center.
There were fees received in the amount of $4213.42 including
$700.00 in rental fees.
Wendy also reported that the center had recovered 407 of
operating costs.
Wendy will attend a seminar on travel and tours.
$400.00 profit was made on the Indian Casino tours. No
expenses put out by center.
On August 25th, a representative of MARY KAY PRODUCTS will do
a demonstration at the center.
It is also reported that TONY TAM WILL DO the Thanksgiving
Dinner for the seniors as he has done in the past.
Signs will be posted in the "QUIET AREAS" and also will be
posted designating "conversation areas".
VICKI WILDERSON: There were 80 guests at the Tuesday dance with a $105.56 as
profit. The Sunday MOONLIGHTERS DANCE had a total of 249
present with a total profit of $716.18
Donations were recieved by the Baking Committee in the amount
of $83. $25-00 cash, raisins, flour, sugar, etc.
PARKS & RECREATION: Nary Hanlon suggested a Senior Day from a residential care
facility, lunch in the park or similar event so that house
bound seniors could get out for a change.
The patio area of the Community Center is to be made into a
Japanese garden by the Sister City.
OLD BUSINESS: The Barbeque and Auction is coming up. Police Officers will
do the cooking' ' ' There are25 prizes lined up so far„such
as dinners, gift certificates, jewely, savings bonds and a
overnight trip for two! !
