2002/06/13 Senior Center Board of Directors Minutes • Rohnert Park Senior Center Board of Directors MINUTES Thursday, June 13, 2002 1:20pm roll call Present: Brubaker, Kennedy, McDouall, Sampson, Fuhs, Tringali, Wilkerson Absent: Schaeffer, Jurgiel, Audiss, Barry Approval of Minutes: No meeting held, lack of quorum Unscheduled Public Appearances—none **New Business** Vicki reported in Wendy's absence— Wendy would like the Board's opinion regarding the sale of leftover volunteer gifts. The Board unanimously agreed it would be okay to sell the gifts. Suggestions were made as to where and when they would be sold — for example: display gifts in gift shop or on table in front lobby, sell at upcoming flea market, choir concert, etc. etc. **Board Member Reports** Fun After 50: Held first Country Fair meeting. Ann Kennedy mentioned it would be good if the President routinely asked the members if they knew of any member who is out ill so a card could be sent to them. It was pointed out that this is done at each meeting now, but unless a member speaks up, it is not possible to keep track. Dining Site: 533 meals served in the month of May Gift Shoppe: May sales were $764.50. $76 to the Senior Center. Commissions totaled $617 in 30 checks. Active Consignors total 47. Number of Visitors in May totaled 205. Mary reported that they changed the way they keep track of consignments. Senior Advisory: No meeting was held. Recreation Specialist: In Wendy's absence, Vicki handed out the Monthly Report and went over some of the highlights. Senior Programs Coordinator: Vicki gave her report on the final figures for the Black & White Ball held on May 11, 2002. Total Revenue was $11,976.92 - total Expenses were $4,473.66; Net profit - $7,503.26 compared to $4,895.45 in 2001. There were 42 items available for the silent auction which brought in $3,395. Vicki thanked everyone involved in making this year's B&W Ball a success. • • The Baking Committee-a $2.00 cash donation in May making a total of $1 1 1 for the fiscal year that will end on June 30, 2002. The annual Choir Concert will be held on June 23 -there are 20 items for the raffle table- one item being the two-night stay at the Silver Club which will be a separate raffle. All raffle sales money will go directly to the Choir. An upcoming Fund-raiser is the Musical*Comedy Revue to be held at the Scottish Rite Hall on August 3. The Senior Center will receive $1500 for this one performance. Rehearsals are underway. The tickets are $20 each and the Center will offer transportation from the Senior Center to the show. which starts at 7:30 p.m. Some day trips: July 24 to Pt. Reyes National Seashore - lunch at Drake's Beach Café owned by Tony Tam. Cost of trip is $15. July 22 and 30 - Sonoma County Fair- two Senior Days Center will take Seniors out to Fair for $3 charge. August 15 -Thursday- trip to town of Sonoma; September 25 - Wednesday - Wax Museum in SF and Rainforest Café for lunch - $35 fee. Bake Sale/Flea Market on July 19 -Fund-raiser for Center.
