Recreation Specialist: See attached for statistics. Wendy reviewed the
clothing sale on February 8, volunteer tea, Karaoke party, AAA monitoring,
SSU Symposium on Service Learning, excursions, and the Senior
Celebration on March 11.
Recreation Coordinator: Baking committee rec'd no cash, $77.36 in
supplies, and had no expenses. They baked for the Super Bowl party in
addition to regular activities. Super Bowl sold $753 in tickets, $825 in
raffles, $989 for the jersey, $87.25 in soda sales and $255 donated from
stores (with $165 left over for use at the Choir concert). Total profit is
$2,676.20. 19 volunteers helped with the event. Black & White Ball flyer
is done. Theme is "Puttin on the Ritz," with music by DJ Steve Luther.
Exchange Bank is sponsoring the hors d'ouevres, Rotary is doing the bar.
Choir concert is scheduled for June 30 w/lunch. Vicki is coordinating a
show at the Scottish Rite, the Senior Center will receive $1,500, plus $50.00
to each individual act. Performance will be on July 13.
Recreation Services Manager: Activity guide for spring/summer will be
out April 1 . Lots of new camps, plus the usual assortment. John is going to
the CPRS District 1 Teen Workshop tomorrow in Santa Rosa.
Recreation Director: March 15 is the commissioner and board members
appreciation dinner at the Performing Arts Center, dinner and a show.
Budget projections show a bleak picture. Unless changes are made we may
face serious cutbacks in programs and staffing. City Council is looking to
increase taxes and try to continue the tradition of providing quality programs
and services. Costco coming in will help. Apartments will be built where
the old city hall is after the new one is built. Skate park is struggling,
fundraising needed as the city is providing only a small amount of money.
Old library's fate still not decided
**Other Items for Discussion**
Vicki thanked Hazel for visiting Oliver's and getting a $100.00 donation
from them, when in past years they only donated $15-20.
Tim noted that Wendy had been on Street Beat the week before, and is
scheduled to be on again on May 7t.
Adjournment at I :54pm
