2003/07/10 Senior Center Board of Directors Minutes , • Rohnert Park Senior Center Board of Directors MINUTES Thursday, July 10, 2003 1:15pm roll call Present: Brubaker; McDouall; Kennedy; Wilkerson; Sampson; Audiss; Tringali; Cassinelli Absent: Schaeffer; Craft Shoppe Approval of Minutes - no minutes, as there was no meeting last month Unscheduled Public Appearances - none **New Business** Flea market and Bake Sale coming up July 11. **Board Member Reports** Fun After 50: 90's party went well, with a photo in the Voice. There were nine 90 year olds. They were served quiche, and the decorating committee made topiaries for the centerpieces. Betty Tringali had to delegate due to injury, but Nancy and Carmen stepped up to the plate and did a great job. Denis Tarramasso sang. They've had a meeting re: Country Fair and Flea Market. Next year membership dues to go up to $10/year— this will go to the membership for a vote. Attendance was 519 for 5 Mondays in June. Dining Site: 177 volunteer hours, 636 congregate meals served. Gift Shoppe: June sales $1200. new consignors. 214 visitors. 214 volunteer hours. Written report as follows: "The craft shop is pleased (actually thrilled) to report the sales we had for June. We took in over twelve hundred dollars, which is something of a record. Several new consignors have joined our shop with new items for sale so it is an exciting time for all of us. We thank everyone for their patronage and goodwill and look forward to your continued support. We could use new volunteers so please spread the word!" Senior Advisory: no meeting last month. Recreation Specialist: Statistics for June were handed out. Annual no money auction coming up on August 8. Bingo Party scheduled for September 5. Recreation Coordinator: Vicki reported on the baking committee, upcoming trips to the Sonoma County Fair, our September cruise, and the Variety Show in November. She also gave a final report on the Black & White Ball. **Old Business** none **Other Items for Discussion** Discussion about Ray "Popeye" Bell, who recently passed away. The Senior Center will be happy to provide a memorial service. Hazel Brubaker brought up the subject of unsightly homes in Cotati. She was directed to contact the Cotati City Council. Don Goodsell, Senior Center volunteer and Kut Ups performer, has been ill. Kut Ups performances are in July. Adjournment at 2:00pm
