SUBJECT: VISITORS TO PUBLIC SAFETY BUILDINGS

PURPOSE: To establish a standard procedure for individuals who visit any Public Safety station.
DEFINITIONS
• Visitor: Persons who come to a Public Safety station who are not a Public Safety employee and
are entering non-public areas. This includes former employees who have separated from
employment or retired.
PROCEDURE
1. All visitors to Public Safety Main and Fire Stations shall check in at the front counter or with on-
duty staff.
2. All visitors shall be escorted by an RPDPS employee, with the exception of:
a. RPDPS employees’ immediate family members
b. Rohnert Park City employees with City/RPDPS background clearance
c. Cleaning/maintenance/vendor staff with City/RPDPS background clearance
d. Outside training staff and training students who are employees of other law
enforcement, fire, EMS agencies, or affiliates
e. Other circumstances at the discretion of the Director of Public Safety
