1. Call to Order
Chair Jan Ogren called the meeting to order at 5:30 PM.
2. Introductions
Chair Ogren commenced self -introductions.
3. Reading of the Land Acknowledgement
Shirley Johnson, BPAC Member, read the Land Acknowledgement on the Meeting Agenda.
4. Public Comments
No members of the public were present.
5. Consideration of Approval of Minutes for May 20, 2024 meeting
Action: Moved/seconded (Ogren / Keith) to approve the 5/20/2024 meeting minutes. Motion
carried by the following 4-0-1-0 vote: Ayes: Ogren, Keith, Gutierrez, Johnson; Noes: None;
Abstentions: None; Absences: Hensel.
6. Countywide and Rohnert Park Active Transportation Plan Update: Review of Planned
Projects
Ms. Tacata presented the staff memorandum on the Active Transportation Plan Planned Projects
list and asked the BPAC for a discussion on their concurrence of including the projects list in the
Active Transportation Plan update and their prioritization. The BPAC had a discussion about
several projects on the list and their prioritization. The BPAC concurred to change the priority
tier of several projects as follows:
• Escalate projects from Tier 2 to Tier 1:
o #26 - East Cotati Avenue within City Limits (Class IIB buffered bike lanes, gap
closures and pedestrian safety solutions)
o #46 - Seed Farm Drive and Southwest Boulevard intersection (crossing and
safety improvements)
o #64 - Southwest Boulevard from Burton Avenue to Adrian Drive (Class IV bike
lanes)

• Escalate projects from Tier 3 to Tier 1:
o #41 - Golf Course Drive and SMART Multi -Use Trail and Roberts Lake Road
intersection (crossing and safety improvements)
o 447 — Southwest Boulevard and Burton Avenue intersection (crossing and safety
improvements)
The BPAC also concurred to add the State Farm Drive Bike/Ped Overcrossing project where the
Rohnert Park General Plan shows a Highway 101 vehicular crossing between State Farm Drive
and Business Park Drive.
7. Amendment to Rohnert Park Bicycle & Pedestrian Advisory Committee Handbook
Regarding Meeting Minutes Format
Ms. Tacata presented the staff memorandum on the BPAC minutes format. The BPAC discussed
the issue and proposed bringing up the issue at Agenda Item #9, New Matters for Future
Consideration.
8. Project Updates
Ms. Tacata called attention to a press release on the SMART Multi -Use Bike Path extension
between Golf Course Drive and south Santa Rosa. Mr. Jason Sampietro gave the following
project updates: Highway 101 Bike/Ped Overcrossing secured $3.350 million in funding; Golf
Course Drive crosswalks to be in construction on July 1; Snyder Lane/Hinebaugh Creek
Crosswalk construction contract was awarded; Hinebaugh Creek Path Rehabilitation is in
design; restriping of Rohnert Park Expressway in vicinity of the Highway 101 overcrossing is in
permitting; Southwest Boulevard Complete Streets project will start construction in mid -July;
and a concrete pad is being constructed in Alicia Park for a bikeshare hub.
9. New Matters for Future Consideration
Mr. Gary Gutierrez requested a future agenda item on how ongoing maintenance of bike
facilities is planned. Chair Ogren requested an item on the Golf Course Drive parking removals
and bike lane enforcement. Chair Ogren also requested a future item on signage including
directional, warning and wayfinding. Vice Chair Steve Keith requested a discussion about the
Cotati Rohnert Park Unified School District's 2 x 2 x 2 Committee. Vice Chair Keith also
requested an agenda item to consider amending the BPAC Handbook to change the meeting
minutes format.
10. Adjournment
Action: moved/seconded (Johnson/Gutierrez) to adjourn the meeting. Motion carried by the
following 4-0-1-0 vote: Ayes: Ogren, Keith, Gutierrez, Johnson; Noes: None; Abstentions:
none; Absences: Hensel. The meeting was adjourned at 7:26 PM.
