A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROHNERT PARK
AUTHORIZING THE DISPOSAL OF RETIRED VEHICLES/EQUIPMENT
THROUGH SURPLUS SALE AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER OR
DESIGNEE TO EXECUTE DOCUMENTS FOR SAME
WHEREAS; on October 8, 2024 the City Council adopted Vehicle/Equipment
Replacement Policy 2.01.008 via Resolution 2024-089, to meet the needs of a changing modern
fleet; and,
WHEREAS; the policy requires that retired vehicles shall be removed from the Vehicle
Depreciation list and the active City Fleet pending Council authorization by Resolution to
dispose of the items through surplus sale; and,
WHEREAS; the Director of Public Works regularly reviews the fleet and determines
which vehicles/equipment no longer meet the needs of the City and should retired and designated
as surplus; and,
WHEREAS, the Public Works Director, has determined there are twenty-four (24)
vehicles/equipment that have reached the end of their useful life and should be retired and
disposed of by surplus sale in fiscal year 2025-26; and,
WHEREAS, if circumstance change, staff may need to revise the list of vehicles to be
auctioned to best serve the City's fleet needs; and,
WHEREAS, Public Safety unit 0034 a 2008 Ford Escape was approved for auction in
fiscal year 2024-25 by resolution 2024-105 but has temporarily reinstated and will not be sold.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Rohnert
Park that it does hereby authorize and approve the disposal of retired vehicles/equipment,
through surplus sale as listed on Exhibit A.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Manager or Designee is hereby authorized
and directed to execute documents pertaining to same for and on behalf of the City of Rohnert
Park.
