A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROHNERT PARK
ACCEPTING THE CALIFORNIA DEPARTMENT OF CALIFORNIA HIGHWAY
PATROL EVERY 15 MINUTES PROGRAM GRANT (E15M) AND INCREASING
APPROPRIATIONS IN THE FY 2025-26 GENERAL FUND PUBLIC SAFETY
DEPARTMENT BUDGET IN THE AMOUNT OF $20,000
WHEREAS,the Rohnert Park Department of Public Safety participates in educational
and prevention programs intended to reduce impaired and distracted driving among youth and
promote safer roadways in the community; and,
WHEREAS,the City of Rohnert Park Department of Public Safety has been awarded a
Department of California Highway Patrol (E15M) program grant funding in the amount of
$20,000; and,
WHEREAS,the (E15M)program is designed to educate high school students about the
dangers and real-life consequences of impaired and distracted driving through a comprehensive,
school-based prevention program; and,
WHEREAS,the grant period begins December 1, 2025 and operates through June 30,
2026.
WHEREAS,the E15M event has already occurred on April 9th and 10th, the Department
is requesting that the Council formally accept the California Highway Patrol Every 15 Minutes
Grant.
NOW, THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Rohnert
Park does hereby authorize and accept the E15M Grant.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Director of Finance, is authorized, to increase
grant revenue and expenditure appropriations in the amount of$20,000, and to make any other
accounting adjustments necessary to execute the E15M Grant in accordance with applicable
laws.
