A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROHNERT PARK
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A MAINTENANCE
AGREEMENT WITH DC ELECTRIC GROUP, INC.,A COMMERCIAL ELECTRICAL
CONTRACTOR AND RELATED ACTIONS
WHEREAS, the City of Rohnert Park("City") currently has an agreement for traffic
signal Maintenance Services and Emergency Repairs with DC Electric Group, Inc. (DC Electric)
which will terminate on June 30, 2026; and
WHEREAS, in December 2025, the City issued a Request for Proposals (RFP) for
maintenance of electrified traffic control devices throughout the City and received two proposals;
and
WHEREAS, after reviewing both proposals in response to the RFP, staff determined that
DC Electric is the better qualified candidate, as they are the only applicant capable of providing
24-hour emergency services and also have experience providing maintenance services to the
City; and
WHEREAS, staff recommends awarding a contract to DC Electric to maintain the City's
traffic infrastructure; and
WHEREAS,the current maintenance agreement with DC Electric is nearing expiration,
and the City's traffic infrastructure will add one traffic signal and two rectangular rapid flashing
beacons for pedestrians, so a new contract with updated language and service locations is
appropriate; and
WHEREAS,this action is not a"project"pursuant to the California Environmental
Quality Act (CEQA) as it lacks the potential for a direct or indirect physical change in the
environment (14 CCR § 15378; Cal. Pub. Res. Code § 21065) and, alternatively, is exempt under
CEQA Guidelines Sections 15306(b)(3) (Common Sense Exemption) and 15301 (Existing
Facilities) as the work consists of only minor alterations, repair, and maintaining operations to
existing infrastructure.
NOW, THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Rohnert
Park that it does hereby authorize and approve a traffic signal Maintenance Services and
Emergency Repairs Agreement, with an Effective Date of July 1, 2026, by and between DC
Electric, a commercial electric contractor, and the City of Rohnert Park, a municipal corporation,
for the services as shown in Exhibit"A"to the Agreement, subject to minor modifications by the
City Manager and approved by the City Attorney.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Rohnert Park that it
does hereby authorize and direct the City Manager to execute the Maintenance agreement and
documents pertaining to the same for and on behalf of the City of Rohnert Park.
