5.1 Approval of the Draft Minutes of the Planning Commission Regular Meeting of April 9, 2026
ACTION: Moved/Seconded (Orloff/Epstein) to approve the Minutes of the Planning Commission Regular Meeting of April 9, 2026. Motion carried by the following 3-0-1-1 roll call vote: A YES: Campbell, Epstein, Orloff; ABSTAIN: Austin-Dillon; ABSENT: Lam
6.REGULAR ITEMS
6.1 Study Session #2, Review Draft Objective Design Standards (CEQA Status: Not a Project). No action required. Planning Consultant Christina Ratcliffe introduced M-Group Planning Consultant Tom Ford, who delivered a presentation on the Objective Design Standards (ODS). The Study Session agenda included an overview of the session, a project timeline, background information, a discussion by the Planning Commission, and outlined next steps. Staff and Consultant received direction on the ODS, which will return to Planning Commission for action at a later date. 7.ITEMS FROM PLANNING COMMISSIONNo items for discussion were presented by the Planning Commission. 8.ITEMS FROM DEVELOPMENT SERVICES STAFFPlanning Consultant Ratcliffe clarified that during the April 9, 2026, Planning Commission meeting for the sign program for Edgeway Plaza located at 7301 Camino Colegio, two of the monument signs were installed without permits. She noted that when the applicant applies for a building permit, they will be subject to double permit fees for the signs installed without benefit of permit. She also informed the Commissioners that the May 14, 2026, meeting was tentatively to be canceled, and the May 28, 2026, meeting will proceed as a full meeting with five items on the agenda. After discussion, the Commission consensus was to schedule all items for the May 28, 2026, meeting. 9.ADJOURNMENTVice Chairperson Campbell adjourned the Planning Commission Meeting at 6:59 p.m. Clotile Blanks, Recording Secretary
