SOP-6 Gasoline CardsRevised: January 14, 2021 Police Services Division SOP-6 October 1, 2009 SUBJECT: Fueling of Department Vehicles & Usage of Assigned Department Gasoline Credit Cards PURPOSE: To establish a standard procedure for fueling of department vehicles. The City of Rohnert Park has gasoline & diesel fuel storage tanks in various locations in the city to be used by employees to refill the fuel tanks of City Vehicles when necessary. These locations currently include the Corporation Yard, Main Public Safety Building, and the Northern Fire Station (#2) on Country Club Drive. The Rohnert Park Department of Public Safety currently has allocated Cal Cards for the use of fueling vehicles which require special fuel. The following procedures outline the proper steps in the refueling of City Vehicles: I. CITY OWNED FUEL TANKS AND PUMPS a) All employees should refill the fuel tank of the City Vehicle they are driving or assigned at one of the City owned locations as described above. b) Employees will fill out the fuel consumption forms located at these locations, if applicable to track usage. II. CAL CARDS USED FOR FUEL A. The department issued Cal Cards should be used for fuel under the following conditions: 1. Out of the area travel such as training / schools requiring refueling prior to returning to the City of Rohnert Park 2. City Owned Storage Tanks are empty or broken 3. Emergency Situations. 4. Vehicles needing octane level 91 such as our motorcycles. Revised: January 14, 2021 III. FUEL RECORDS All fuel receipts will be processed with the Cal Card monthly statement or turned in to the Directors Administrative Assistant.
